About the Destination:
Phuket is Thailand’s largest island and Asia’s most popular beach destination.
With long sandy beaches, spectacular tropical sunsets, wellness spas, adventure, entertaining nightlife and a laid back atmosphere, many visitors choose Phuket for the sheer variety of attractions it has on offer.
Even though Phuket is an Island, it is also an International hub with medical facilities and care offered at international standards. Many hospitals and clinics are JCI accredited (the gold standard in medical accreditation), a certification that a medical facility meets the same rigorous standards of quality and safety as required in the US.
Getting around Phuket is a little more difficult compared to cities. There are taxis for hire, however, the rates are fixed per distance and not by the meter. So please keep that in mind when traveling. The airport is also located to the North of the Island and not so close to the main areas.
Phuket is sunny all year round but rains heavily during the monsoon season. The monsoon season is from May to November, however during this time many amazing accommodation deals are offered.
